Mike grew up and now resides in Granite Falls, MN, the heart of the Minnesota River Valley. At a young and eager age, Mike was introduced to the outdoors while deer hunting in northern Minnesota with his family. These memories made in the woods started a life long passion for the outdoors. While in college, Mike worked at Scheels in the archery department. This is where he learned to share his passion for bow hunting and archery with others. Mike’s desire to teach others about the outdoors led him to volunteering for organizations such as FM Walleyes Unlimited, Adult Young Angler Fishing Tournaments and National Professional Anglers Association (NPAA) Kids fishing clinics. Mike enjoys being a volunteer fishing guide for various events including: Kamp KACE, Take A Vet Fishing, and Minnesota Teen Challenge. He loves to teach others about the outdoors through writing blogs and magazine articles, as well as speaking at seminars or joining Scott and Kyle on the “Gone Outdoors” radio show. Photography and videography are additional ways in which Mike likes to promote the outdoor sports. Mike continues to introduce new people to the outdoors, motivated by Luke 5:10- “Don’t be afraid, for now you are a fisher of men.”
